We drank away Christmas. We’ll sleep away the New Year. Here’s to hoping things change.
Stand here feeling cold, alone and empty. But I’ll take this time to wind down. Birds fly south overhead and I wish that I was one of them. Could sure use an easy out on a night like this. Feeling stuck in this hole. It’s lacking in direction. My friends keep going on about the New Year.
And as long as you’ve known me I’ve not been the type to get down around Christmas and crank up the trite. I’ve got payments, ex-girlfriends and problems alike. Man, I’m trying. Now my back’s getting sore and my clothes don’t fit right. I don’t wanna see you 'cause God knows we’ll fight. Now my Visa’s maxed out so here’s your shitty gift. Man, I’m trying. Here’s hoping that I pass out in the snow. Christmas dinner is at your mom’s place. Don’t make me fucking go.
